This page explains what we collect when you visit upvoteyourbrand or send us an application, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Short version: we collect what you type into our forms and basic usage data, we use it to evaluate and answer you, and we do not sell or share it for marketing.
Who we are
This site is operated by upvoteyourbrand (“we”). For anything about your data, use the form at the end of this page. It reaches us directly.
What we collect
When you send an application. What you type into the form: a link to your product, what you sell and to whom, the countries you are targeting, whether you have organic traffic today, what you have tried so far, what you want to see in three months, your name and your email address. Our server also records the time of the application and the IP address it came from, which we use to protect the form from abuse.
When you write to us through this page. Your name, your email address and your message.
When you browse. If you accept cookies, Google Analytics collects usage data such as the pages you view, how long you stay, your approximate location and the device and browser you use. We also use a cookieless analytics tool that collects anonymous, aggregated usage data without identifying you; it runs whether or not you accept cookies. Our hosting and network providers keep standard technical logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.
Why we collect it
To read your application, look at your product and your market, and reply to you. To answer your questions and requests. To understand how this site is used and improve it. To keep the forms free of spam and abuse and keep the site secure.
How we review applications
We review every application individually. That review may include looking at publicly available information about your product and its presence online. We do not use automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Who else sees it
A small number of service providers process data on our behalf, under their own security and privacy commitments: the companies that host and deliver the site and protect it from attacks (including the verification step that may appear on a form), the provider of the mailbox where your application and messages arrive, and the analytics tools described above, including Google Analytics if you accept cookies. They process your data only to provide those services to us.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We may disclose data if the law requires it.
Cookies
When you first visit, a small card asks whether you accept cookies. If you accept, Google Analytics sets its cookies to measure usage. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. Your choice is remembered in your browser so the card does not come back; you can change it by clearing site data in your browser. Our cookieless analytics tool does not use cookies at all.
How long we keep it
Applications and messages: for as long as we are evaluating or in contact with you, and up to 12 months after our last contact. If you become a client, your data is kept under the agreement we sign. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of the analytics tools. Technical logs are kept by our providers for a short period.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, these rights are set out in the GDPR, and you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. If you are a California resident, you have similar rights under the CCPA, including the right to know and the right to delete; we do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, use the form below. We will answer within the time the law allows, usually much sooner.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection. Everything you send through our forms is stored and transmitted as plain text so that nothing in it can run, and the mailbox is protected by access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
Children
This site and our services are for businesses and the people who run them. They are not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted here.
